Famed Oscar-winning cinematographer John Toll (“Braveheart,” “Legends of the Fall,” “The Thin Red Line”) is reportedly in negotiations to serve as director of photography on the fourth film in “The Matrix” film series at Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow.
Should he sign he would reunite with Lana Wachowski, the co-director of the original trilogy who is helming solo this time out. The pair previously worked together on “Cloud Atlas,” “Jupiter Ascending” and the Netflix series “Sense8”.
He’s not the only returnee though as Geof Darrow and Steve Skroce, who served as storyboard and concept artists on the original trilogy along with Jim Martin, are also returning. Both artists worked alongside Wachowski on numerous other projects including “V for Vendetta,” “Speed Racer” and “Jupiter Ascending”.
Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity in the feature which was revealed earlier this week, just minutes before the Disney-Sony Spider-Man split story hit and sucked up all the oxygen in the room.
