Action legend Carl Weathers, documentary filmmaker Werner Herzog, “Breaking Bad” star Giancarlo Esposito, veteran Nick Nolte and rising actors Omid Abtahi (“American Gods”) and Emily Swallow (“Supernatural”) have all been announced as joining Pedro Pascal and Gina Carano in Jon Favreau’s live-action “Star Wars” series “The Mandalorian”.
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
Favreau penned the series, and the directors include Dave Filoni, Taika Waititi, Deborah Chow, Rick Famuyiwa and Bryce Dallas Howard. The show will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. The ten-episode first season will reportedly have a combined budget of $100 million and premieres on Disney+ in late 2019.
