Studios often send out ‘start of production’ press releases, today marks one of the few instances where they’ve issued a release for the end of one.
Lionsgate have announced the end of principal photography on the anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ bestselling novel “The Hunger Games”. The film is the first in a series that Lionsgate is making based on the book trilogy and is scheduled for a March 23rd 2012 release.
The 84 day production began shooting May 23rd and was shot entirely in North Carolina. The rather underwhelming TV teaser trailer on MTV the other week drew a big audience but also raised the question of when will a proper theatrical trailer hit and will it include different content.
Lionsgate releases the Taylor Lautner thriller “Abduction” next Friday which remains a good bet for some sort of ‘Hunger’ sneak peek to pop up like the “Twilight” stars’ abs.
