With Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” closing out with the fate of Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk unknown, a big question has been regarding how the big green meanie would make his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Hulk has been rumored to be making appearances in both “Captain America: Civil War” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” but so far Marvel hasn’t been saying anything. Now though, a third potential place for his re-emergence has come with a new report at JoBlo who claim he will next be seen in “Thor: Ragnarok”.
The site says much of ‘Ragnarok’ will be set on a distant planet that is neither Asgard nor Earth and Mark Ruffalo (Hulk) will be prominently featured as part of the key cast which will also include Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif).
While the title refers to the famed Norse mythological apocalypse, the site speculates that the Planet Hulk storyline from the comics may be worked into the action. It’s suggested “Thor: Ragnarok” may shoot next year in Queensland, Australia although that has not been confirmed.
Taika Waititi is in talks to direct the project from a script by Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle.
