With “The Good Wife” creators Robert and Michelle King set to leave the show following the end of its current seventh season, could the CBS legal drama be closing up shop as well?
The show’s star Julianna Margulies has gotten speculation fired up during a speech to honor the Kings at the Casting Society of America’s Artios Awards. Vulture reports that during her speech she said:
“I surprised Robert and Michelle tonight. They didn’t know I was going to be here. They think I’m here for them, but I’m unemployed come April, and I think you haven’t seen me in a while – at least not in person – so I thought I should show up.”
No decision has yet been made on whether the show will return for an eighth season. Speaking at the TCA’s the other week, CBS president Glenn Geller told reporters the show could “absolutely continue” without the Kings. What about without its leading lady?
There’s also speculation that CBS may look to try to bring the show back for a shortened eighth season of around ten to thirteen episodes.
