Fox is very happy with its serial killer thriller series “The Following,” so much so that they have ordered Warner Bros. TV to produce another fifteen episodes for a second season.
Debuting in January, the Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy-led series has already become the second highest rated broadcast drama and the third highest rated drama overall this season with Live+7 ratings.
Launching to 10.4 million viewers, the show dipped as low as 7.8 million before comfortably settling around 8.5 million in recent airings. The first season is slated to wrap on April 29th.
Speaking of serial killers, CBS CEO Les Moonves recently referred to the upcoming eighth season of the Showtime series as the “last”.
While it has long been expected that the new season would be the final one for Dexter Morgan, some have wondered if the companies involved (CBS is Showtime’s parent corp) might have changed their minds as the show’s ratings have only increased.
What appears to be the final season is currently slated to get underway on June 30th.
