Elizabeth Banks’ Brownstone Productions and Warner Brothers Animation are set to produce a new version of the classic animated series “The Flintstones”.
The comical take on a prehistoric family, the original followed Fred, Wilma and their daughter Pebbles along with their neighbors The Rubbles and a variety of beasts functioning as household appliances and tools.
The series debuted in 1960 and ran for six seasons and ran for many decades later along with spawning spin-offs. The new version is described as “a primetime animated adult comedy series based on an original idea featuring characters from The Flintstones.”
No official network or streaming service is currently attached to the new series, though an HBO Max debut could well be possible. The franchise was previously brought to the big screen as a live-action film in 1994 and a prequel in 2000.
