“The Fifth Element” Returns To Cinemas

Luc Besson’s 23rd-century sci-fi caper film “The Fifth Element” is celebrating its 20th anniversary next month with a two-day theatrical re-release of a new 4K restoration of the project.

Presented by Fathom Events and Sony Pictures, the screening will also offer an exclusive preview of Besson’s new space opera “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” which opens in July.

Bruce Willis starred as a gruff cab driver and ex-soldier who teams up with an enigmatic orange-haired woman (Milla Jovovich) to save Earth from annihilation. Gary Oldman, Chris Tucker, and Ian Holm also starred.

Noted for its wild production design, costumes and campiness, the film earned $263 million in its original run and has gained a cult following over the years.

The re-release screenings are set for Sunday, May 14th and Wednesday, May 17th at 2pm and 7pm local time. Tickets are out at Fathom Events
