The third and final five episode season of BBC Two’s acclaimed serial killer thriller series “The Fall” has released its first trailers ahead of the premiere. The BBC released a thematic teaser in good quality, while RTE One in Ireland unveiled a more regular trailer which someone has posted (albeit in low quality). Both are below and are keeping much of the new season under wraps.
Though the BBC has yet to announced a specific airdate, co-star Jamie Dornan revealed on The One Show this week it’ll be out around the end of the month. The network has released its schedule up to September 24th and so far it has yet to appear.
The third series will close off the cat and mouse game between Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson (Gillian Anderson), and Paul Spector (Jamie Dornan) that began in the series several years ago. Both actors have expressed a desire to continue on in these roles but creator Allan Cubitt, who has written every episode of all three series and directed every episode of the second and third, seems to be ending it on a high note.
The main cast from the previous series, including John Lynch and Colin Morgan, are all back bar one exception – Archie Panjabi who won’t return as pathologist Reed Smith. In the U.S. and other key countries, Netflix premiered the season in full within days of it wrapping up its run in the United Kingdom. Should it hold to pattern, expect “The Fall” to hit the streamer in November at the earliest, or more likely in the December/January period.
