“The Division” Developers Plan “Avatar” Game

Ubisoft, Lightstorm Entertainment, and Fox Interactive are teaming up with Massive, the game developer responsible for “The Division,” to create a video game set in James Cameron’s “Avatar” universe.

The new game will be for both PC and console and will use Massive’s Snowdrop engine used in both “The Division” and the upcoming “South Park: The Fractured But Whole”.

Massive and Lightstorm are working together to expand the universe and give players the freedom to learn about the world of Pandora in new ways. The companies are also looking for people to work on the game.

The game will be released sometime during the release of four “Avatar” film sequels which begin shooting in August ahead of releases running from 2018 through to 2023.
