Ahead of The CW’s DC shows all making a comeback, the network has released some new material and offered some updates on the various shows.
First up, Byron Mann (“Altered Carbon,” “The Expanse,” “Hell on Wheels”), who played Yao Fei Gulong in the very first season of The CW’s “Arrow,” will return for the show’s eighth and final season in the same role – a master archer and mentor to Oliver Queen. Mann reappeared as Yao Fei in a hallucination in the fifth season’s penultimate episode.
Next up, “The Flash” and “Supergirl” have scored new posters and ultra-brief promo trailers, all of which show off their new costumes while the ‘Flash’ clip offers a tiny tease of the upcoming ‘Crisis’ event. Grant Gustin’s Flash gets a new look that’s decidedly inspired by the New 52 run of the comics, while Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl ditches the skirt for a more practical pantsuit. It is also confirmed that John Wesley Shipp will return for the new season.
Finally both the third season of “Black Lightning” and the upcoming new series “Batwoman” scored new clips which you can see below as well. “Arrow” returns October 15th, “The Flash” on October 8th, “Supergirl” on October 6th, “Black Lightning” on October 21st, “Batwoman” premieres October 6th, while “Legends of Tomorrow” is being held until early 2020.
