The CW has given early pickups to five of its drama series – “Arrow,” “Supernatural,” “The Vampire Diaries” and newcomers “The Originals” and “Reign”.
The pairing of “Supernatural” and “The Originals” on Tuesday nights has seen that night’s ratings double from year-to-year. In its current ninth season, “Supernatural” has in fact seen double-digit increases year-to-year in total viewers and all key demos. There’s also been a 57% jump in digital viewing over last year
“Arrow” has also seen a strong increase in young male viewers and is now the network’s most watched series with 3.9 million viewers, while “The Vampire Diaries” is the highest rated in all key demos. Both shows have seen a 25% jump in digital viewing over last season.
