The CW Cancels Three Shows, Picks Up “Flash”

Its upfront presentation isn’t until next week, but The CW has made its final decisions about the fate of the shows on its schedule.

“Arrow,” “The Originals,” “Reign,” “Supernatural” and “The Vampire Diaries” were all already renewed back in February, which left six shows hanging.

Three of those – “The 100,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Hart Of Dixie” – are returning. Getting the chop? “The Carrie Diaries” and two of last year’s five newcomers – “Tomorrow People” and “Star-Crossed”.

Meanwhile four shows have been picked up to series, most notably the “Arrow” spin-off “The Flash”. Also making it are “Veronica Mars” creator Rob Thomas’ “iZombie,” the soap “Jane The Virgin”, and the sci-fi thriller “The Messengers”.

Two proposed new shows that didn’t make the cut were the terrorism drama “Identity,” and the “Supernatural” spin-off “Bloodlines” with its backdoor pilot episode last week garnering poor reviews.
