The Criterion Channel officially launched earlier today, just a few months after the beloved but insufficiently supported FilmStruck was shut down.
Criterion President Peter Becker tells Deadline they have every intention of sticking around for the long haul.
Becker says: “There’s already a lot of energy swirling around us. We’re highly motivated to build something that is sustainable. We have films that you can’t see anywhere else and much bigger range of film directions.”
New subscriptions come with a 14-day free trial. The service costs $10.99 per month or $99.99 a year and can be accessed through web browsers as well as apps designed for Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Roku, iOS, and Android and Android TV devices.
