“The Angry Birds Movie” Gets A Sequel

Following the box-office success of this year’s “The Angry Birds Movie,” Rovio Entertainment CEO Kati Levoranta has confirmed that a sequel is already being planned.

Budgeted at a fairly economical $73 million before marketing, the film has so far made $107 million at the domestic box office and over $346 million worldwide for Sony Pictures.

The first film starred Jason Sudeikis as the short-fused Red, Josh Gad as the fast Chuck, and Danny McBride as the volatile Bomb. All will likely be back for the follow-up. No word if directors Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis will return or other cast members including Keegan-Michael Key, Maya Rudolph, Bill Hader, Peter Dinklage, Kate McKinnon, Ike Barinholtz or Tony Hale.
