The 2015/16 TV Season Series Rankings

With final ratings now in, the CBS network was the overall winner of this just wrapped U.S. TV season. CBS scored the highest overall audience for the eighth consecutive season along with finishing No. 1 in the 18-49 demographic for the second time in the last four years.

It was NBC’s “Blindspot” that was the highest rated new series of the past TV season with an average 3.1 rating per episode, and second highest in total viewers with 11.0 million. That network also had “Little Big Shots” which had the highest viewership of all new shows this past season with 12.4 million. Here’s the Top Ten lists of both highest rated and total viewership of all new series:

CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory” remains TV’s most watched scripted series with 20.4 million viewers per episode. Runners up were “NCIS,” “Empire,” “NCIS: New Orleans,” “The X-Files” revival, “Blue Bloods,” “Little Big Shots,” “Madam Secretary,” “Criminal Minds” and “Scorpion”.
