The 2010 Oscar Winners

The 82nd Annual Academy Awards have have just wrapped in Hollywood with “The Hurt Locker” dominating the scene with six wins including Best Picture and Best Director. “Avatar” scored three, while “Precious,” “Crazy Heart” and “Up” took two each.

There were few surprises with many categories won by the odds on favourites. Exceptions included adapted screenplay going to “Precious” rather than “Up in the Air” and foreign film going to Argentinan entry “El Secreto de Sus Ojos” rather than “A Prophet” or “The White Ribbon”.

Despite a more formal sense to the ceremony itself, the broadcast proved a bit of a shambles production wise with audio dropouts, poor choices of clips and just a general sense of awkwardness that lacked much of the polish of last year’s slicker style.
