Chris Terrio (“Argo”) has been hired to pen the fact-based drama “A Murder Foretold” for Paramount Pictures and Indian Paintbrush says Deadline.
Based on an article by David Grann in The New Yorker, the story looks into Rodrigo Rosenberg, a wealthy Guatemalan businessman who watched his wife-to-be get assassinated along with her father, and was later gunned down himself while riding his bicycle.
His murder stirred up an entire country frustrated by the endless waves of violence, sometimes involving corrupt government officials.
Steve Zaillian, Garrett Basch, Steven Rales and Mark Roybal will produce. Terrio will script the project before the English-language film adaptation of Harlan Coben’s novel “Tell No One”.
