Terrence Malick’s “Song” Set For March

Terrence Malick’s long in post-production Austin music scene drama is finally on the horizon.

The filmmaker shot the project several years ago with the title previously referred to as “Weightless”. Now that has changed with Broad Green Pictures coming onboard as a U.S. distributor and have titled it “Song to Song”.

Additionally a March 17th 2017 release has been set for North America, and the first official photo is out with actors Michael Fassbender, Ryan Gosling and Rooney Mara seemingly making the cut and staying in the picture.

The modern love story deals with two entangled couples – a pair of struggling songwriters Faye (Mara) and BV (Gosling), music mogul Cook (Fassbender) and the waitress whom he ensnares (Natalie Portman). The quartet chase success through a landscape of seduction and betrayal.

Musicians like Patti Smith, Lykke Li, the Black Lips, Iggy Pop, Florence and the Machine, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers all reportedly appear.
