Universal Pictures is reportedly circling the “Terminator” film franchise whose rights are currently held by hedge fund company Pacificor reports Deadline.
With Arnold Schwarzenegger taking offers for roles again, it’s not a major surprise that whomever picks up the film rights to the franchise would hope to be get the ageing star back for a role. Universal is also said to want “Fast and Furious” and “Fast Five” director Justin Lin to helm and scribe Chris Morgan to pen the script.
Pacificor, LLC scored the rights to the franchise in January last year and holds licensing authority over any proposed project. Hannover House tried to develop a 3D animated feature without Pacificor’s permission last August, that didn’t exactly work out.
