It has been over a month since the first photos from the upcoming “Terminator Genisys” dropped online and surprisingly that first publicity campaign salvo did not include either a new poster or trailer, just an Entertainment Weekly cover story.
Now though the official website for the film has gone live with the first motion poster and a countdown to the film’s first trailer which will debut this Thursday at 1pm US-PST.
Like last week’s “Jurassic World” trailer, which popped up at an Australian event for Universal Pictures a few weeks earlier in November, the first trailer for ‘Genisys’ was reportedly already shown at an invite-only Paramount Roadshow panel two weeks ago says The Terminator Fans.
According to the site, the trailer will have its public premiere at the ‘Comic Con Experience’ event in Sao Paulo, Brazil at a Paramount panel on Thursday morning. It then goes online that afternoon.
“Terminator” is one of the key Summer 2015 tentpoles not to have launched a trailer yet. “Furious 7,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Mad Max: Fury Road,” “Jurassic World,” “Tomorrowland,” “Inside Out,” “Pan,” and “Minions” have all already released first trailers. Other high profile projects from next Summer we’re still waiting to see footage from include “The Fantastic Four,” “Ant-Man,” “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” “San Andreas,” “Pixels,” “Magic Mike XXL” “Ted 2,” “Transporter Legacy” and “Point Break”.
