Tenney & Heard Join Stepfather Remake

Jon Tenney, Amber Heard, Paige Turco, and Braeden LeMaster have joined the cast of Screen Gems’ remake of the 1987 horror thriller “The Stepfather” says the trades.

Tenney will play a father trying to reconnect and protect his teenage son (“Gossip Girl” hunk Penn Badgley). Heard plays Badgley’s girlfriend, beating out “Friday Night Lights” actress Adrianne Palicki for the part due to scheduling conflicts.

Sela Ward is already on board as Tenney’s ex-wife, whose soon-to-be husband (Dylan Walsh) might have murdered his previous family.

Director Nelson McCormick and writer J.S. Cardone, the pair behind the upcoming “Prom Night” remake, work in the same capacity on this project currently filming in Los Angeles. Shooting is scheduled to wrap April 15th.
