Natalia Tena and comedian Bill Burr have both confirmed that they are a part of the cast of “The Mandalorian,” the upcoming first “Star Wars” live-action series which is being made exclusively for the Disney+ streaming service.
In fact, we’ve already seen both in the teaser trailer albeit under heavy make-up. Tena, who played Nymphadora Tonks in the “Harry Potter” films and Bran’s wildling helper Osha in “Game of Thrones”, confirmed on Twitter she is the purple female Twi’lek alien who turns and winks back at someone in the clip.
Tena says: “Can you spot my purple alien face? So honoured to have been part of this banging series, my inner geek is doing backflips with bells on.”
In the same shot, the back of Burr’s bald head for the role can be seen. Burr confirmed his involvement on The Rich Eisen Show and confirms he’s only in one episode – the one directed by Rick Famuyiwa. He adds: “they were directing it like a spaghetti western” and discussed ‘The Volume’ – the LED surrounded sound stage used during the production.
Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, and Taika Waititi also star in “The Mandalorian” which begins streaming with the launch of the Disney+ service on November 12th.
