A recent deal between Telltale Games and Skybound Entertainment has been finalised, meaning that production has resumed on “Telltale’s The Walking Dead: The Final Season” with many of the game’s original developers back onboard.
The other month Telltale Games made headlines as it underwent severe layoffs and suspended their upcoming catalogue including “The Walking Dead: The Final Season” which was in the middle of its four-episode run. Skybound made a deal a month ago to take over but hadn’t released any updates until today.
The Skybound Team took to their website to make the announcement saying:
“Thank you for your patience while we worked with Telltale to take control of TELLTALE’S THE WALKING DEAD. Its been a ton of work logistically and legally to get us to a place where we’re able to roll up our sleeves and get to the actual work.
Soon, we will be announcing release dates for the two remaining episodes. It’s likely that previous seasons of the game may be unavailable to purchase for a few days as we transition—but don’t panic!—we’ll have everything back online ASAP.”
Skybound says those who have already purchased the fourth season will not have to pay again, and future episodes will be available to download immediately upon their release.
