Entering the Fall film festival circuit with no release date and not much buzz, the film played and wowed audiences, joining “Moonlight” and “La La Land” as one of the most talked about films of the trifecta of fests. Fox Searchlight quickly slotted it in for a December 9th release, and with their “The Birth Of A Nation” now a question mark on the awards front – they may shift some of their efforts to this instead.
Natalie Portman stars as Jackie Kennedy in the film which is set during the days immediately following her husband’s assassination. Known for her extraordinary dignity and poise, here we see a psychological portrait of the First Lady as she struggles to maintain her husband’s legacy. Greta Gerwig, Billy Crudup, John Hurt, and Peter Sarsgaard co-star while Darren Aronofsky produces.
