Taylor Lautner has apparently dropped one of the two toy adaptations he had signed up for, ditching Mattel and Paramount’s “Max Steel” in favour of Hasbro and Universal’s “Stretch Armstrong” reports Vulture.
The “Twilight” hunk was set for both projects with ‘Steel’ scheduled to go first. However the 3D ‘Stretch’ has apparently been moving a lot faster through the development process than ‘Steel’ with a 2012 release seemingly locked for ‘Stretch’. ‘Steel’ in the meantime has made very little progress.
As a result Lautner ditched ‘Steel’ earlier this month, around the same time talks began with Rob Letterman (“Monsters vs. Aliens”) to direct ‘Stretch’. For more details click here.
