Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has offered a brief update on the status of his potential “Star Trek” movie which he confirms now has a script.
At last report Mark L. Smith (“The Revenant”) was penning the script based on a story idea from Tarantino himself and the latter, doing some recent press for “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” opening next month, tells Empire (via The Playlist) that: “There’s a script that exists for it now, I need to weigh in on it, but haven’t been able to do that yet.”
Tarantino also reaffirmed that the film will be R-rated and he still hopes to do it himself: “Oh yeah! It’s an R-rated movie. If I do it, it’ll be R-rated.” The filmmaker has previously talked about potentially directing the project which is based within the iconic sci-fi franchise.
At present the project has no potential production timetable.
