Director Kevin Tancharoen (TV’s “TwentyFourSeven,” “DanceLife”) will make his feature directing debut on “Fame”, a remake of the 1980 Alan Parker-directed drama for Lakeshore Entertainment and MGM reports Variety.
The Allison Burnett-scripted film follows the lives of students who attend an elite school for the performing arts in New York from audition to graduation.
Tancharoen has been the choreographer of music videos and tours for such artists as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Jessica Simpson.
Production is scheduled to begin sometime just before Labor Day. Open casting calls will begin on both coasts within the next month.
