“X-Men: First Class” producer Bryan Singer has confirmed rumours that he sought “Twilight” film series star Taylor Lautner to play a role in the upcoming prequel.
Talking with Blastr, Singer says “I wanted Taylor [Lautner] to do it, I really did. He’s doing a movie in Pittsburgh called ‘Abduction’ and then he’s got the next ‘Twilight’ movie. We talked about it a lot, he is a friend, and I really wanted to make it work. It just doesn’t look like it’s possible to do it.”
Singer didn’t reveal which role, but did confirm he won’t be directing the “Wolverine” sequel as his next project is still “Jack the Giant Killer” which goes into production in the UK next year. Also despite all the casting rumors, he said he can only confirm James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult “for sure”.
Meanwhile as we already know, Kevin Bacon’s been signed as the villain for the film. Which villain though?
Well the first theory to emerge is that he’s Hellfire Club NYC branch leader Sebastian Shaw says Forces of Geek. We’ll wait and see.
