With Hugh Jackman’s run as X-Men’s Wolverine coming to a close, he recently sat down with the Sydney Confidential podcast where he was asked about that final solo “Wolverine” film and if he could offer anything new to tease the fans. Jackman revealed that Sabretooth might be making a return:
“There were a lot of calls for Victor Creed to come back, there was… I must admit I was quite heartened by a number of people saying please don’t make it the last, but I’m really excited about this last one, and if you’re a comic book fan, then the words ‘berserker rage’ came up a lot, so if you know Wolverine, you’ll understand.”
Next up, a photo from an Instagram user who claims to have been on the set of “X-Men: Apocalypse” in Quebec this past week says that the character of The Blob will appear in the film. The character will reportedly be played by a 540-pound French-Canadian actor, and not Kevin Durand who took on the role in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”.
Finally, don’t expect the upcoming “Deadpool” movie to include the current version of the villain Ajax from the comics. Out doing promotions for “The Transporter Refueled,” actor Ed Skrein says his take on the character is very much the earlier incarnation. He tells Digital Spy:
“We don’t go too deep into Ajax’s backstory. We mention it, it’s very faithful to the first section of Ajax in the comics, the backstory that we see, the flashbacks in the comics, and so we’re very faithful to that. There’s a second half of Ajax in the comics, where he comes back five years later with this big crazy suit and stuff, and we didn’t touch on that, so this is the early Ajax. We’ve stayed very faithful to that.”
“Deadpool” is slated for release on February 12th 2016, “X-Men: Apocalypse” opens May 27th 2016, and the final “Wolverine” hits in early 2017.
