Syfy’s “Ascension” Airing Compressed

Syfy has announced that it has not only delayed its upcoming space-set mini-series “Ascension,” but they have significantly altered their plans for airing it.

The series follows the members of covert 1960s US space mission in which hundreds of people are sent on a century-long voyage aboard the starship Ascension to populate a new world.

Halfway into their journey, as they approach the point of no return, the murder of a young woman causes the ship’s population to question the true nature of their mission.

Originally the six-episode mini-series was to start airing on November 24th with weekly episodes. Instead, the network will now screen the series in three, two-hour installments over three consecutive nights – from December 15th to 17th.

Brian Van Holt and Tricia Helfer star in the series.
