Syfy Renews “The Expanse” For Season 2

Syfy has renewed its acclaimed space series “The Expanse” for a second season. A further thirteen episodes of the series will be produced for airing in early 2017.

Currently in the midst of its ten-episode first season, the series is set two centuries into the future and follows the case of a missing young woman that brings a hardened detective (Thomas Jane) and a rogue ship captain (Steven Strait) together in a race across the solar system that will expose the greatest conspiracy in human history.

The series has garnered strong multiplatform viewership since its December 14th debut with an average of 1.6 million P2+ linear viewers (L3) in its first three episodes. “Iron Man” scribes Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby are set to return as showrunners for the next season.
