SyFy Plans Space-Set “The Expanse” Series

Syfy continues getting back into the science-fiction game with a straight-to-series ten-episode order for a new space opera based on James S.A. Corey’s best-selling “The Expanse” book trilogy.

The thriller is set 200 years in the future and follows the case of a missing young woman who brings a hardened detective and a rogue ship’s captain together in a race across the solar system to expose the greatest conspiracy in human history.

Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (“Children of Men,” “Iron Man”) are attached as writers and executive producers. Syfy president Dave Howe says the series promises to be the network’s most ambitious series to date.
