Sutherland Has No Further “24” Plans

Though he came back for the event series revival “24: Live Another Day,” Kiefer Sutherland has definitely out Jack Bauer out to pasture it seems.

As FOX is reportedly developing a spin-off series that would put the focus on other characters or situations, but that hasn’t stopped fans asking for Sutherland to show up again. The actor, though keen to do more TV, firmly tells The BBC he’s done with “24”:

“24 is definitely over now for me. It’s one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever been given as an actor, but it’s moving on without me. I want to do other things.

I want to do more television. My experience of 24 was unbelievable, but the main benefit was that it was nice to do something that people actually watched, and that they enjoyed. There are some movies I’ve made people might have enjoyed, but there were nine of them watching.”

Sutherland has starred in several post-“24” series, most notably “Touch,” but none stuck. He recently provided the voice for the lead character in the most recent entry in the “Metal Gear Solid” video game franchise.
