Production on Luca Guadagnino’s remake of Dario Argento’s 1977 classic “Suspiria” is over. Filming on the project took place in Italy from September through December, was halted for much of January and then resumed until it wrapped the other week.
Filming is now officially done, with the director hard at work in post confirms Cineuropa. This suggests the film could be ready in time to premiere during the Fall film festival season. Amazon has already acquired international distribution rights to the movie, and recently courted buyers at the European Film Market.
Speaking of wrapping, Marvel’s “The Defenders” event series has finished production with members of the cast and crew sharing photos from the wrap party. Shooting on the eight episode series began at the end of October.
Finally, while those two films have closed up shop, another is about to begin. My Entertainment World reports that the new version of “The Lion King” will begin production in Los Angeles in May.
