Suspiria Remake Will Use Goblin Score

One of the most unique elements of Dario Argento’s haunting 70’s horror masterpiece “Suspiria” is its score by Goblin. The unsettling blend of synthesizer, whispers and drums made up a BIG part of that film’s atmosphere.

As recently reported, “Your Highness” helmer David Gordon Green is set to do the remake as his next project and plans on being very faithful to the original with much of the same camera shots and dialogue, while expanding on it ways that make it artful.

Now Green tells Movieline (via The Playlist) that he’s planning to use elements of Goblin’s score as well.

“We got the rights to the Goblin score, so we’re going to use that. Steve Jablonsky, who did the score for ‘Your Highness,’ is incredible. So I would love to see what he would do with the Goblin music. We could start in a very faithful, synthesizer kind of world of music that Goblin does in the original film, and by the end of it turn that score into a huge opera, which would be incredible” says Green.

Filming on this new take on “Suspiria” aims to kick off at the end of this year or early next year.
