Susan Sarandon Heads Into A “Big Valley”

Susan Sarandon is in talks to join a film version of classic late 60’s Western TV series “The Big Valley” for Panther Entertainment says The Hollywood Reporter.

Sarandon will take over the role of Victoria Barkley, played by Barbara Stanwyck in the original. Stanwyck starred as the matriarch of a San Joaquin Valley ranching family in the 1870’s.

Daniel Adams (“The Lightkeepers”) penned the screenplay and will direct while Kate Edelman Johnson, daughter of the show’s creator Louis F. Edelman, will produce. Filming kicks off in May in Michigan and New Mexico.
