Kim Rhodes, Briana Buckmaster, Kathryn Newton and Katherine Ramdeen have all reportedly closed their deals to star in the “Supernatural” spin-off “Wayward Sisters” should The CW move forward with it.
The news was revealed during the show’s San Diego Comic Con panel on Sunday morning, a panel during which legendary rock band Kansas appeared and kicked things off with their classic rock song “Carry On My Wayward Son” which has been featured heavily across the show’s twelve seasons to date.
One of the episodes of the upcoming 13th season will serve as a backdoor pilot for the spin-off which sees Sheriff Jody Mills (Rhodes) and her daughters Claire Novak (Kathryn Newton) and Alex Jones (Katharine Ramdeen) teaming with Sheriff Donna Hanscum (Buckmaster) and newcomer and psychic high schooler Patience Turner (Clark Backo).
The panel included both a retrospective reel seen below, along with some Q&A with the actors. From the sounds of it, Castiel (Misha Collins) and Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith) aren’t dead and will be back. In fact, the Apocalypse dimension and rifts into that world mean that some characters long thought dead could well return.
“Supernatural” kicks off its thirteenth season on October 12th.
