While we know that Sam and Dean dealing with Lucifer’s newly born offspring will serve as a key storyline in the upcoming thirteenth season of The CW’s “Supernatural,” what looks like the big bad for the season has also been revealed – the Archangel Michael.
Last we saw of Michael he was possessing the other Winchester brother, Adam, who was pulled into the ‘pit’ at the end of the fifth season.
That version remains under lock and key, instead we’ll be seeing a different version – the one from the alternate world seen in the twelfth season finale – and this one is quite different. Showrunner Andrew Dabb says of the new version of the character, played by Christian Keyes, is a much greater threat:
“The Michael of apocalypse world is the victor. He’s a very different character than the one we met even in season 5. He’s Genghis Khan. He’s been through the wars. He’s conquered the world.”
Dabb adds the worlds will collide…eventually, and the hope is Michael won’t conquer ours. While Michael flexes his muscles in the alternate world, Sam and Dean in our one are dealing with a new King of Hell.
“Supernatural” returns with all new episodes on October 12th.
