Supernatural Could Go Beyond Season 10

Currently halfway through its ninth season, The CW’s “Supernatural” continues going strong and has found itself on a more sure footing both last season and this year.

Ratings have also been consistently higher this year than the past three years and it remains one of the network’s strongest performers. Of course, the question becomes how much longer can it go?

It was previously indicated that current show runner Jeremy Carver had a plan in place that could see the show close out at the end of the tenth season, but was adjustable to let it continue further if needs be.

All indications are that the cast and crew desire to continue with the series for the near future, it was really only up to the network. Now it appears the network also wants to keep going with the show as long as it can.

Speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour, CW’s president Mark Pedowitz says “As a fan of the show, who’s seen every episode, as long as I’m here and those numbers hold, God bless them. They can go as long as they want.”

Another thing in the works is a spin-off series which gets a backdoor pilot this season. Pedowitz says the script for the Chicago-set spin-off has just come in. The plan right now is to let the spin-off stand on its own two legs before any major characters from the main show guest star.
