It’s official – The CW’s “The Flash” and CBS’ “Supergirl” are crossing over.
“The Flash” star Grant Gustin will appear as Barry Allen on an episode of CBS’ “Supergirl” which is set to air on March 28th. Details about the episode will be revealed at a later date.
The crossover will be only one-way for now and will reportedly be explained in-universe due to The Flash’s ability to cross dimensions – keeping in line with the current storyline on “The Flash” about a villain that has jumped between numerous ones and has left rifts between them in his wake.
In a statement, producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg say:
“We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making Supergirl. We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out. And finally thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.”
The announcement comes as The CW has released a new trailer for the two-part “The Flash” episode starting Tuesday which sees Barry travelling to Earth-2.
