The on screen DC TV universe that began over on The CW may be getting a lot more complicated with rumors juicier than a hot turkey hitting today.
Bleeding Cool reports that plans are in place for CBS to introduce the main cast of the CW’s “The Flash” to Supergirl for a crossover episode that would be scheduled for next May during sweeps week.
Talk of such a possibility has been around for some time as the shows are handled by the same producers and production company, but being on different networks meant the decision was up to CBS who initially has wanted “Supergirl” to fly alone.
However, with the show’s strong premiere ratings now falling, it’s time to start finding ways to generate new interest. All this would depend upon CBS picking up the option for the ‘back nine’ and bringing the “Supergirl” season up to 22 episodes – something it has yet to decide on.
The same site also says that following his successful guest turn on “Arrow” the other week, Matt Ryan’s John Constantine will again pop up in the small screen DC Universe. This time though it will be as a full series regular in the second season of “DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow” should it go forward.
As previously indicated, ‘Legends’ will be akin to “Justice League Unlimited” with a revolving major cast and season long mission each year. Another person expected to join said cast is actor Steven R McQueen in an unspecified role. The actor has long expressed desire to play Nightwing, could this be his opportunity?
