Every year the Superbowl is seen as a big launching pad for many studios Summer blockbusters with special commercials crafted just for the big game.
This year, studios have already locked down numerous spots with quite a few more to come according to Variety. Each 30-second spot normally costs a cool $3 million, but by holding off the studios were able to negotiate cheaper rates.
Already confirmed are “Angels and Demons,” “Fast and Furious,” “G.I. Joe,” “Land of the Lost,” “Monsters vs. Aliens,” “Star Trek,” “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” and “Up”
Though it hasn’t locked any yet, Fox is expected to pony up for a slot for “Wolverine” while Disney will possibly add one late for “Race to Witch Mountain”.
Warners, MGM and Summit are opting out altogether.
