Sundance TV Cancels “Hap and Leonard”

SundanceTV’s “Hap and Leonard” has been cancelled after three seasons, despite being the network’s most acclaimed show. Sadly the numbers just weren’t there, the show averaging just 200,000 viewers per episode in Live+Same Day.

Based on the novel series of the same name by Joe R. Lansdale, James Purefoy and Michael Kenneth Williams starred two lifelong best friends – one a Texas white boy womaniser, the other a hot-tempered gay, black Vietnam vet.

Christina Hendricks, Jimmi Simpson, Tiffany Mack, Cranston Johnson, Brian Dennehy, and Irma P. Hall co-starred. The anthology nature of each season means there are no storylines left dangling.
