Sundance & IFC Have Plans For “Carlos”

Sundance Channel and IFC Films have announced a multi-platform release of “Summer Hours” filmmaker Olivier Assayas’s “Carlos”, the $18 million nearly six hour long mini-series starring Edgar Ramirez as the infamous assassin Carlos the Jackal.

The mini-series will first air on the Sundance Channel as a three-part mini-series in October. Shortly after IFC Films will distribute both the 330 minute full version, as well as a cut down 140 minute theatrical version nationally in theatres.

IFC will also make the cutdown version available through its video-on-demand service. The 140 minute version is screening out of competition next week at the Cannes Film Festival.
