Summit Entertainment is planning a film adaptation of Amy Sutherland’s romantic comedy novel “Kicked, Bitten and Scratched” says the trades.
Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky (“Sex and the City”) are writing the screenplay, centered on a fast-talking Los Angeles Times reporter and her laid-back comic book artist husband who wants her to have a baby.
When an assignment takes her to a school for exotic animal training, she discovers a possible cure for her marriage problems.
The film will incorporate elements from Sutherland’s ‘Kicked’ and her New York Times op-ed article “What Shamu Taught Me About Life, Love and Marriage” which became an online sensation.
Michael Ohoven (“Capote”), Kristin Hahn (“The Departed”) and Dana Adam Shapiro (“Murderball”) are on board to produce.
