Summit Entertainment has acquired screen rights to William Paul Young’s 2007 novel “The Shack”.
After a devastating personal tragedy, Mackenzie Allen Philips receives a mysterious note in his mailbox inviting him to The Shack. The letter is signed Papa, his wife’s nickname for God.
Mack responds and finds himself in the presence of God, and a life-transforming journey of truth, forgiveness, and ultimately acceptance.
John Fusco, who is also writing the upcoming “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” sequel and the adaptation of Paul Coelho’s “The Alchemist”, is set to pen the script.
Gill Netter (“Life of Pi,” “The Blind Side”) and Brad Cummings will produce.
