Sullivan Stapleton (“Strike Back,” “Animal Kingdom”) is being eyed for a leading role Noam Murro’s “300: Battle of Artemisia”, the sequel to Zack Snyder’s “300” at Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures reports Variety.
Though various names have been suggested including Joel Edgerton and Eva Green, no actors are officially attached as yet to the film which is set simultaneously with the Battle of Thermopylae.
The story deals with Athenian General Themistocles who led a series of naval engagements to hold off the much larger Persian fleet.
Stapleton was previously in consideration but his “Strike Back” commitments prevented it. Now with the shoot pushed to the Summer, the studio went back to Stapleton and the schedules seem to have worked out.
Mark Canton, Gianni Nunnari, Bernie Goldmann, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder and Thomas Tull are producing.
