Despite the steep drop in its second weekend that seemed comparable to “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” David Ayer’s “Suicide Squad” is showing strong legs with third and fourth weekend estimates now causing initial total gross estimates to be revised upwards.
At present, ‘Squad’ sits at $636 million worldwide and analysts on Twitter today including Jeff Sneider, Justin Kroll and Gitesh Pandya are predicting that the film should finish up its run at around $700-$730 million – that’s $80 million more than what was suggested a few weeks ago.
With “Suicide Squad” cost Warners cost $175 million to produce, before marketing, its now looking like the film will could end up making a small profit for Warners despite critics ravaging the film even more than ‘Dawn of Justice’ earlier this year.
