Some major feature articles about the upcoming DC cinematic universe films has just been published in USA Today which includes a sweet new photo of some of the major cast in David Ayer’s upcoming “Suicide Squad” film which you can see below.
Ayer spoke about Ben Affleck’s Batman cameo in the film, saying that bit of shooting was one of his favorite moments: “We made him fight. He’s awesome (as Batman). … You really sense that but for the grace of God he himself would be doing some really foul stuff out in the world.”
Speaking about his appearance, Affleck says: “It felt like I have such a cool cousin. This thing that is so awesome is somehow related to me, and that was really exciting because it started to feel like a constellation of things, and I’ve never had that feeling.”
Talking about March’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” the film’s director Zack Snyder has confirmed the rumor you’ll be seeing the entire line-up of the team for “Justice League Part One” in the closing moments of ‘Dawn’:
“I love Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman, but having Flash and Aquaman and Cyborg and to see them all standing together, it’s a pretty dorky and cool experience for me. Basically every one of those characters has a logo that you would recognize without them standing there, and that’s a hard thing to achieve in this pop-culture world. We have history to draw on, but we also have these new frontiers to forge… It’s our belief and our goal to honor the legacy of the studio with a batch of films that speaks to that world.”
Finally, Chris Pine recently spoke with Collider and shot down those old rumors of him being linked to play Green Lantern in the new take on the character for the DC universe: “No. I was not offered Green Lantern ever, I’ve never had a conversation about Green Lantern.” Instead, Pine will be seen as the love interest for Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) in her solo movie which is currently shooting.
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” opens in cinemas on March 25th, “Suicide Squad” opens August 5th.
